Let it out! You’ll feel so much better……

Hi Beautiful,

Today I want to share a simple but effective “venting” process with you.  I walk my clients through this process when they need it and they come out feeling so much lighter.  Do this when you feel like you need to get something off your chest.  You’ll feel a huge release of negative energy.

We tend to keep our emotions to ourselves, especially if we don’t want to “rock the boat”.  Whether it’s at work, at home, while your out socializing or at a meeting.  Holding on to our negative thoughts for too long causes us to become “high strung” and in some cases way out of character.

Our negative emotions bubble up inside and eventually they have to come out!

So before you go and scream at, or do something to someone who probably doesn’t deserve it, listen to the following audio:

Venting Process #1

Use this process before you get to the point where you may say or do something you might regret 😉

Mindful Awareness

Hey Beautiful,

Since making a conscious effort to practise the art of mindful awareness every day, I’ve noticed an amazing difference in many areas of my life.

Mindful awareness can be defined as paying attention to present moment experiences with openness, curiosity, and a willingness to be with what is.  It’s an excellent antidote to the stresses of modern times.  It invites us to stop, breathe, observe, and connect with our inner experience.  There are many ways to bring mindfulness into your life, such as meditation, yoga, art, or time in nature.

Every day for the past 8 weeks, I’ve meditated and spent time in nature where I can.  There’s the keywords…….where I can.  You don’t have to spend a lot of time meditating and even just 10 minutes outside, basking in the sun, or enjoying the fresh air, listening to the birds singing, is enough for you to appreciate where you are in the moment.

I’ve found that I’m now practising the art of mindful awareness without even knowing it.  I could be doing something as small as washing the dishes, enjoying the warmth of the water, the smell of the soap suds, actually making sure that I’m doing my best job of cleaning the dishes,  I’m really happy to be washing dishes.  How many people can say that?

Another example is when I’m at work for a whole 5 hours.  I don’t think of it as a burden.  I get there, I know exactly what my role is.  I am there to do a job and I make sure I do it right.  I’m there and I’m fully present!  I find that thinking in this way helps me to enjoy it.  Hey…..I’m there for 5 hours might as well enjoy it and give it 100%.

If you think about it…..

We’re never in our present moment.  Our physical body is there, but our mind is wandering elsewhere.  We’re either thinking about a past experience….what would’ve, could’ve or should’ve happened, if I did it this way, or that way, would it, could it, should it have turned our differently?  Never feeling quite content about what has happened.

Or we’re thinking about the future……worrying/pondering about what would, could or should happen, and could or should I do it this or that way?  While we’re thinking about the past or the future we’re not fully focused on making the best choices for right now.

Be happy and content with what’s happening in your life right now.  Enjoy who ever you’re with, where ever you are…..be fully present and give your full attention!  You’ll be amazed how stress free you’ll be.

What are we teaching our children?

I can’t believe this……

Thought this was really interesting, and does make me think about how freedom of “speech” literally is not so! When you’re asked to present a speech on something you’re passionate about and then penalised for it. What are we teaching our future generation?

A row is brewing over a Hawke’s Bay student who says she was suspended for giving a speech which criticised her school – a claim the school now denies.

Last Wednesday, Year 10 Napier Girls High School student Anela Pritchard was asked to speak on a subject she felt strongly about, and took aim at the school in a speech which has since been posted on Facebook and shared almost 2,000 times.

“School should … teach us more valuable information that we’ll actually need for our futures”, the speech said.

“Teachers are PAID to TEACH us … not paid to hand out a piece of paper with words on it and sit around and do nothing.”

“Don’t just give me worksheets to do and expect me to take a test on the topic 2 days later.”

The following day, Ms Pritchard’s father was contacted by the school and told to “keep her at home until we can schedule an appointment”, which the Pritchards interpreted as a suspension.

He heard nothing more from the school until today, when he says the strong reaction to her speech on Facebook forced the school’s hand. But rather than being suspended, the Pritchards were told that Anela had actually been asked to stay away from the school for her own safety.

She was told she was free to return to school tomorrow, but doubted whether she would because of continuing ill-feeling over the speech.

“I’ve had a lot of support for what I’ve said but apparently some teachers and students aren’t very happy either”, she told ONE News.

She says most students have been supportive and she has “no regrets” for delivering it, while her father says he “absolutely stands by her”.

“I was expecting an apology from the school today and we didn’t get one”, Ms Pritchard said.

Napier Girls High did not respond to ONE News’ repeated requests for comment today.

I’m an advocate for FREEDOM – in every sense of the word. Especially when it involves freedom of speech and freedom of choice etc. even more so when it involves our future generation…….our children.

What are your thoughts?

Self Care is underestimated!

The following statement is by Celia Lashlie (16th February, 2015) – Those of you who had the pleasure of personally knowing this amazing women were blessed.

Inspirational, Motivational and Empowering!

“The seductive nature of the modern world allows us as human beings to believe we are in charge.  In today’s world we think we are in charge.  Technological advances and intellectual knowledge we continue to acclaim, leaves us with the sense that we are in control and that there is enough time to achieve what it is we want to achieve. We become complacent about the need to take care of ourselves… always something more to do.  Some of this is driven by our desire to save the world, others driven by the desire we have to reach the many goals we have set ourselves – many of them superficial.  The simple reality is that we are not in charge and that moment of realisation comes to us when we learn of the fragility of the human spirit.  For some, that lesson comes unexpectedly and hard.

Late last year I slowly became unwell.  The stress of the lifestyle I was living, the demands I made of myself, the demands other people made of me and expected to meet became too great and as 2014 closed I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer that had spread to my liver.  No treatment, no cure, only palliative care.  I’d waited too long to look after myself and my body broke.

To say that it was and is a shock is a major understatement and as I look at the amazing family and group of friends I’m surrounded with as I now travel a different journey warms my heart.  At the same time, there are feelings of trepidation about what lies ahead.  I’m now focused on the moments of magic that are appearing in front of me:

The laughter of my grandchildren; a smile of a friend attempting to walk this journey with me and the pure beauty and strength of my adult children as they battle their anger, grief and sadness at what is happening to their beloved mother.  It’s time to leave the work to others now.

My wish is that others will learn to stop before I did, to take into account the limitations of their physical bodies and to take the time to listen to the yearnings of their soul.  It is in the taking care of ourselves we learn the ability to take care of others.  “When we walk to the edge of all the light you have and take that first step into the darkness of the unknown, you must believe that one of two things will happen :

There will be something solid for you to stand on, or, you will be taught to fly.” “Faith”

Get in their INBOX

Hey Gorgeous,

Today I’m talking email list and why every serious blogger and business needs one!

The answer is very simple……..

Everyone’s got an email account and they more than likely log into it several times a day. Most phones and devices these days provide unbelievably easy access to email accounts 24/7 with notifications enabled.  Email is much more personal, direct, and a reliable way to get in touch with most people.

During my online experience, I’ve learned that building an email list is the best thing you can do for your website and business.

When someone subscribes to your email list via an “opt-in” form on your website, they’re usually super interested in what you have to offer and are more likely to open your email and click on the links.  It’s not such a surprising fact, here’s why….

Email is Personal

Email allows you to land right in their inbox and there’s no ranking system limiting your reach. Your message is intended for a user and it lands right in their inbox. It’s very direct, personal, and less formal.

Email is Purposeful

To get onto your email list a person has to “signup”.  Someone who makes an effort to enter their details in your opt-in form is obviously interested in hearing from you, and is much more receptive and responsive to your message.

Email is Targeted

As I mentioned earlier the user has already shown interest in your offer or message. They’ve already given consent to learn more by receiving your emails. They’re much more likely to click, buy and tell their friends about you. Since you already know what they like, you can deliver them highly relevant content and offers to get better results.

Email is One-on-One

People read email in the privacy of their inbox. The message is not on a public wall or timeline. They can ask you questions directly in private with confidence. You’d be surprised how many people don’t want to ask questions on public forums where everyone can read them. Email also allows users to build a one on one relationship with you. Gradually they develop trust in your brand and proudly spread the word around.

To summarize all this……email works a lot better than any other online marketing tool.  Big name brands learned that long time ago, and this is why they spend thousands of dollars on social media campaigns to get people to sign up for their email lists. They understand that email is the best long-term investment and people will continue to get their message at a very low-cost for a longer period of time.

Considering the benefits of building an email list, it requires very little effort, time and money to build. It’s so simple to get started…..

  1.  Select an Email Marketing Service Provider

  2.  Strategically Place Your Opt-in Form

Some WordPress themes come with built-in sidebar email widgets. Your email marketing service provider may also provide you with the embed code that you place onto your site.

If you haven’t got a mailing list yet I highly recommend you check out the email marketing provider I use……The Power Lead System.  This is the best thing you could do to build your business.

Why blogging is soooo good for business!

Hey Beautiful,

Let’s talk about blogging and why it’s important for your business.

Here are my seven top reasons why blogging is so vital for your business. In fact, I dare say that blogging is one of the best things you can ever do for your business……

1.  Google loves bloggers and what Google says goes

More blog posts mean that your site will have more pages indexed with Google which really helps your SEO (Search Engine Optimization).  When you create new content Google comes back to your website more often and that really helps your search rankings. Google loves fresh content…..believe it or not……you’re actually penalized for not creating new content.

2.  Showcase your expertise

Creating content allows you to demonstrate how much you know about your “niche”, which helps you prove that you are an expert in your field.  Blogging allows you to write content that is beneficial to your audience. So be sure to set yourself apart from the pack.

3.  Build trust with your potential clients

Blogging lets your potential clients get to know you at their own pace and show them that you’re not some weirdo scam artist.

4.  Showcase who you are to your clients to see if you’re a good match

If you’re gonna let someone help you to build a business, wouldn’t you like to get to know them first to see if you actually click?  attract your ideal client by showcasing the real you!

5.  Give your social media outlets more purpose

Your blog posts give you something helpful to share to build your brand. You can break up a top 10 tips post into 10 separate tweets that link back to your post.

6.  Give potential clients a reason to stay on your site (or to come to it in the first place)

When you have interesting and exciting content, your website visitors will spend time on your site actually reading it. This means that they will learn more about you and what you have to offer. When you position yourself as a resource instead of just a service provider, you become much more valuable to your potential customers.

7.  Stay top of mind with clients

Your website visitors may not be ready to book you yet, but by giving them a reason to come back they remember you when it is time to buy. Making decisions about who you want to help to build your business is a HUGE deal and can be daunting too. Provide content (like I do via email), this reminds them who you are and how frickin awesome you are!

If you haven’t got a blogging website yet I highly recommend you start one ASAP.  By showcasing the real you and your expertise in your industry….your ideal client will come!
